I've been busy working on a new show for the Food Network, can't say much about it except that the chef makes the most amazing food, the crew is awesome and the props are sweet!

Hope you are loving what you do as much as I am!

Summer Classic

We watched this old classic not so long ago.

That movie still scares the bajeezus out of me,
glad we watched it when we were landlocked!
What is your favorite summer classic?

Eagles? More like Turkeys!

To quote a peaceful warrior again today:

“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be
judged
by the way it treats its animals”
Mahatma Gandhi

Wow, I was very disappointed by the Philadelphia Eagles decision to sign Michael Vick. I wish I was on a opposing team so I could personally kick his pansy little sissy ass.

What is that saying to our children who look up to these teams? That it is alright to torture, murder and abuse animals as long as you can throw a ball and win a game? SHAME SHAME SHAME!

Send an email to The Eagles and let them know what you think!

I can't believe their poor judgement.

~~~~~~~
The Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals said Thursday night in a statement it was "incredibly disappointed" at the news of Vick's signing.
"Philadelphia is a city of dog lovers and most particularly, pit bull lovers," said Susan Cosby, the organization's chief executive officer. "To root for someone who participated in the hanging, drowning, electrocution and shooting of dogs will be impossible for many, no matter how much we would all like to see the Eagles go all the way."
Quote O' The Day
“The best way to find yourself, is to lose yourself in the service of others.”
–Ghandi
as I get wrapped up in work and other obligations I find myself needing to reach for a more spiritual goal, a goal to focus on something other than beautifying a tabletop or getting stressed out over fiscal crap. My goal is to bring in more "Secret Santas" - corporate and individual sponsors, to Operation Santa so we can get closer to our goal of giving gifts (plus winter coats, winter boots/scarves/gloves/hats) to a whole school of needy kids in the Bronx. Want to help? Get a few friends together and make it an annual event! Get your co-workers to adopt a classroom! Accept donations at your church for siblings. The wrapping party is the best part.
It's easy to get wrapped up in the craziness of deadlines, over-scheduling and the minutea of everyday life but I never want to lose focus on one of the most important things in life.
Looking outside of your world and Helping Others.
Give a little, get a LOT!
Colorful Talent
Reading a post from Purple Flowers made me think of Harold and The Purple Crayon, one of my very favorite books growing up. I am sure it was singlehandedly responsible for many a talented child drawing all over the walls and furniture at home with their grape crayola. Thank God that was before colored Sharpies.
Speaking of talent, click below to see many
the artist who did this wonderful piece with Harold.
How Fun!
I am hoping I can increase my budget to get one of her painting on my next kitchen set.
Speaking of colorful
Let's give it up for Betsey Johnson
who is celebrating her 67th b'day!
GORGEOUS!
Freshy Fresh
I had a fresh plum the other day that was so good, so juicy, so fresh... I thought I died and went to heaven.
Local, tree ripened fruit is one the true pleasures of summer.
(that and my new iPhone!)
How about those tomatoes?
Farmer's Market Still Life in Paris
oooo laaa laaa
I plan on visiting my local farmer's markets this week to load up on fresh tomatoes for sandwiches (Hellmans vehicle!), plenty of fragrant basil for walnut pesto ~ to freeze ~ and hopefully grab some ripe apricots so I can try out this jam recipe from one of my favorite new blogs.
Tres délicieux...
I want to be having that with almond butter on toasted sunflower bread by the end of the week! To die for!
